Maker, Entrepreneur, & Business Owner at 16
By Pamela Lankford, Director of Logistics & Epicenter
Luke Burnosky first came to the Epicenter when his older brother Caleb was an intern from Marietta College. Both having an entrepreneurial mindset, they worked on developing a prototype using the 3-D printers at the Makerspace and eventually purchased their own printer. Since that time Luke has ventured out on his own, starting Lee's Outdoor Services at the young age of 16 in 2017.
He started out as many aspiring entrepreneurs with a small customer base of only 2, by the next year he was up to 6 customers and also worked a part-time job while going to school. Unfortunately, as COVID-19 hit, he lost his customer base, as did many small businesses. But he persevered, and this year is up to 19 customers and turning a profit.
Over the years, Luke has reached out to the Epicenter and the Small Business Incubator to provide guidance on his business venture. He even filed the paperwork to become an LLC in the state of Ohio so he can expand into the commercial side of lawn care. He recently gave a shout to BB2C on social media "A big thank you to Pamela Lankford at Building Bridges to Careers! They have helped Lee's Outdoor Services get through the hurdles of starting a business. If you are starting a business and need help navigating through the process, give BB2C a call and they can help you!"
We love working with all entrepreneurs, but especially our youth! We look forward to continuing to help Luke as he grows Lee's Outdoor Services!
