Making a Little Holiday Magic

This holiday season, makers and BB2C staff came together to create and fill over 100 stockings for local families. The stockings were made through Sewing with Kindness. They were donated to Gospel Food Mission, who will give them out. The stockings were stuffed with candy, lip balm, Kleenex, small toys, and more.

Sewing with Kindness was started by BB2C Makerspace Content Expert Ann Siegfried, who oversees our Fiber Arts Space. The group comes together quarterly to create items to donate to area nonprofits or charities. In the past, they have also made and donated cloth masks, reusable shopping bags, and medicine bags for those in hospice. The items can be made at the Makerspace or dropped off to the Makerspace after they've already been made.

If you're interested in joining Sewing with Kindness, you can follow the BB2C Makerspace Facebook page, sign up to receive our weekly newsletter, or email makerspace@bb2careers.org for more information.
