Meet Safa!
BB2C is excited to introduce our second summer intern! Meet Safa Gultekin, our Data Intern. Safa is able to work with a multitude of data, including both organizational data regarding finances and programatic feedback as well as with YouScience data from Washington County, to help us identify the best way to serve students, businesses, and communities!
Hello! I’m Safa Gultekin. I’m from Istanbul/Turkey. Currently, I’m a sophomore at University of Akron and I’m majoring in Statistics- Actuarial Science. I’m also a former exchange student. I studied my senior year at Marietta High School two years ago. I’m a huge fan of soccer and my favorite club is Galatasaray!
After graduation, I would like to go to Europe to work. For now, my dream is to work in Switzerland or in a country which is close to Switzerland. The reason why I want to live in Switzerland is because I did some research about my field and I found out that Switzerland is the best country to live in for actuaries.
[What drew me to BB2C was the] environment and the mission of BB2C! After I learned what the goals of BB2C are, I was immediately interested in joining the team. They also provide very helpful resources and because of that I would say this is a great place to learn new things and improve yourself.
As a BB2C intern, I get to work with the financial data of the company and create reports from the data. I also work with the process of obtaining the data.
Safa gets to work with our Epicenter and Logistics Director, Pamela Lankford. She shared, “Safa has been a great asset to BB2C this summer. He has done analysis on our Discover Days as well as supporting our financial record keeping with event tracking. His willingness to jump in on any project wiht a smile and “of course!” has been wonderful to have!”
