You’re Invited to Education After Hours!
Education After Hours is a free, community-wide event that everyone is invited to. It is for educators, community members, and business representatives to engage in meaningful conversations around the future of our students, businesses, and communities. Educators gain valuable insights into the skills and experiences that local businesses are looking for in future employees, while business leaders have the chance to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing schools and students today.
“It’s about creating connections that lead to real opportunities for students,” said BB2C Executive Director, Tasha Werry. “Understanding what businesses need helps to better prepare our students for the future.”
Throughout the evening, attendees have a chance to connect with others to spark new ideas and partnerships. This year’s event will be on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at The Vault, located at 301 Second Street in Marietta, Ohio, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. This BB2C event is sponsored by Memorial Health System and catered by The Changed Plate. A cash bar will be available. Door prizes will include Marietta Bucks, provided by the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce; a $500 scholarship to one educator to use for their classroom, provided by the Marietta Community Foundation; a unique, handcrafted item created at the BB2C Makerspace.
“Education After Hours is more than just a networking event — it’s an opportunity to continually invest in our community,” said Dan Weaver, BB2C board member and Vice President of HR and Support Services of Memorial Health System. “When businesses, educators, and community leaders collaborate, students gain access to opportunities that prepare them for success. Moreover, these same students are provided with opportunities and careers right here in our own community. Keeping these students here in our community is essential to meeting future workforce needs and BB2C is instrumental in coordinating those collaborations".
