The Right Path Regatta

Youth organizations in Washington County are invited to register a team of kids interested in building a cardboard boat and racing it! Materials will be provided to each team. The Right Path Regatta will take place on Friday, August 11th starting at 6 p.m. at the Marietta Aquatic Center.

RULES & RACE INFO:

TEAMS
Teams are comprised of two or more kids, rising 4th - 8th graders. Two team members will be the designated racers. Both racers must be able to swim and will need to pass the swim test at the Aquatic Center. Other team members are the pit crew and can help design and build the boat. The pit crew members can also make posters to bring to cheer on their boat.

BOATS
Each team will receive corrugated cardboard and duct tape to build their boats. Boats can only be made from the cardboard and duct tape provided. No other items will be allowed. Teams will receive kick-boards to use as paddles.

PREVIEW DAY
Teams are invited to build a prototype, which they can try out on July 21 at 6 p.m. to see what works and what doesn't. They will have to take what they learn and rebuild their boat for race day if they choose to come to preview day.

RACE DAY
The regatta race will take place on Friday, August 11 starting at 6 p.m. at the Marietta Aquatic Center. Winners will receive bragging
rights & an awesome trophy!
