From 3 to 7 in 1.5....

March 2018: 3 spaces - a couple of 3D printers, vinyl cutters and some woodworking equipment

October 2019: 7 spaces - 9 3D printers, 2 laser cutters/engravers, a fully equipped woodshop, multiple sewing machines, a full stained glass workshop with a mini kiln, a creative arts space with a plethora of ways to create (including vinyl cutters), and the very beginnings of an electronics/programming/robotics space.

We’ve come a long way in 1.5 years!

Last night’s Fall Open House included tours with demonstrations of turning a pen on a lathe and the steps of creating a stained glass window or infused glass ornament from local makers. Several of our Makerspace members were there to share their thoughts and network. There was also the option to make a Halloween mask on the laser cutter or on the sewing machines, and then creatively decorate it with a medium of your choice. The combinations and possibilities of creativity are endless when you have all of these options in one place!

Yes, you missed the Fall Open House and the chance to make your own Halloween mask, but that’s OK. Every Saturday in October is COSTUME SATURDAY! Plus, you can stop by for a tour anytime to see everything we have available.

The BB2C Makerspace enhances our community and provides opportunities of a kind that were previously only available in larger urban areas. Not only does it provide an awesome place to make things, it also helps support the overall mission of Building Bridges to Careers, which is to create community networks that support youth career development and build our entrepreneurial ecosystem. Win-win-win!!

Thank you to all who have supported the creation of this amazing place in the last 1.5 years. What will the next 1.5 years bring? The possibilities are endless!
