Toys for Families, Toys for Futures

Heather Miller, Outreach Coordinator

The Marietta Community Foundation's Annual Nonprofit Challenge, sponsored by Superior Toyota, is in full drive!  Toy drive, that is.  This year, the Foundation is working with the Salvation Army to meet the need in our community of helping families provide Christmas magic to their kids.

In the past, the Salvation Army Angel Tree worked in collaboration with our local Community Action’s Secret Santa program to provide toys to almost 800 kids.  But 2019 was the last year for the Secret Santa program, meaning the 600 kids they served would now need to go through the Angel Tree program.  And there is an expected increase in requests for assistance by families due to the economic impact of COVID-19. That's a lot of extra Christmas Magic ordered up!  The Foundation and 11 local nonprofits have come together to support kids, families, and Christmas in our community.

If you, your family, or your organization would like to help, we'd love your support.  Donations of new, unwrapped toys toys can be dropped of to the Marietta Community Foundation, Wit & Whimzy , the BB2C Epicenter, or the any of the five main Washington County Public Library branches.  Monetary donations will also be accepted and will be used by the BB2C staff to purchase toys.  Donations are accepted through Monday, November 16
