Rae Ann Rauch, Summer Job Placement Participant

Hi, my name is Rae. I have lived on a farm all my life and hold a deep passion working and caring for animals.  I am currently attending the Ohio State University and am majoring in animal science.  I hope to apply to the OSU veterinary program. I got involved with Building Bridges to Careers because I was looking for a summer job with a veterinarian clinic.  

I met the amazing Program Facilitator, Tonya Davis, and she helped me through the entire process of finding a job with the Boxers Bed and Biscuits veterinarian clinic, Meds and Fixits, this summer. I get to work alongside both a vet and vet technician. My job allows me to watch surgeries, hold/restrain patients, organize medications, clean facilities/equipment, and care for patients. 

I believe that Building Bridges to Careers has helped me fully determine my career. Before working at an actual veterinary clinic, I didn’t have experience in the field and was unsure if I’d like it.  Because of my experience this summer, I now know that a veterinarian is the career path for me. 

By working here at Boxers Beds and Biscuits, and with the help of Building Bridges to Careers, I am able to say that this is what I want to do. I hope that other people get the opportunity to work with Building Bridges to Careers so they can find and pursue their dream jobs as well. It is a wonderful opportunity.
