Meet Evan!
BB2C is excited to welcome our first summer intern! Meet Evan Saribalas, our Makerspace Intern. This summer, we will be running not one, but two S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) camps. Our June camp is for high school students. Our July camp is for middle school camps. Evan will be helping with both!
My name is Evan Saribalas and I recently graduated from Marietta College with a degree in Applied Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Next fall I will be attending the Ohio State University to pursue a Masters in Transportation Engineering. I have rowed for nine years and compete with the Marietta College Men's Rowing team. I enjoy hands-on activities such as making things, 3D printing, woodworking, etc.
I am the Makerspace Intern, I will be helping run our STEAM summers camps as well as helping out around the shop troubleshooting and building things. I will be working under Jared Wittekind.
While working on my college capstone project I needed help getting a resin printed part. I stumbled across BB2C and met Jared Wittekind. He was super helpful and at the end of printing the part, he offered me this internship.
During high school I worked in a similar position with "Camp Invention" run through the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Taking this position only felt natural as I want to help exhibit the world of STEAM to students. I have been working with 3D printers for around 5 years now, so I am happy to help keep ours up and running. Other work experience that may not be directly related, ODOT design intern, geotechnical engineering intern, architectural intern.
I am glad to be here!
