Welcome, Lara!

Lara Coghlan is BB2C's new Internship Coordinator. Her position is through AmeriCorps and Rural Action.

My name is Lara Coghlan. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Marietta for college. I have an avid interest in the outdoors and prefer to spend my free time hiking, camping, or foraging. One of my goals in life is to make it to all 63 National Parks; so far I have been to 12!

I graduated from Marietta College with a degree in educational studies, which explores the topic of education on a broader scale. While at school, I was a coxswain for the Men’s Rowing team and worked for library circulation services. During my last semester at Marietta, I joined the coaching staff for the Marietta High School rowing team as an assistant coach and have been coaching since then.

I am the Internship Coordinator at BB2C. Anytime a student is interested in an internship for job experience, they contact me to coordinate their placement. I work with students by helping them find opportunities and I work with businesses that are interested in hosting an intern. I enjoy this because each day I am making new connections with new people.

I was drawn to BB2C because it allows me to work in education and support students throughout the community. I have also always loved serving other individuals and this position allows me to pursue service as a career. This position is through by AmeriCorps, which is a program that allows me to pursue unique experiences and training opportunities to build my personal and professional foundation for the future. My AmeriCorps service is with Rural Action and my position is with BB2C. I am very grateful to be involved and supported by two really awesome organizations that share similar service values.

If you’re interested in hosting an intern, you can email Lara at internships@bb2careers.org. If you are a high school student, or have a student interested in interning, be sure to check out bb2careers.org/students to let us know.
